Meet Jean Marie
After almost two decades as a Montessori guide through the American Montessori Society — and training with the RIE Association — I found myself asking a question that wouldn't go away:
"If the Montessori environment transforms children — why aren't we designing homes the same way?"
The answer, it turned out, was simple: nobody had made it accessible. The principles that create calm, independent, functional spaces for children work just as powerfully for adults. They just needed someone willing to bring them home.
The background behind my methods:
Nearly 20 years as a Montessori guide, certified through the American Montessori Society
Internship and training with the RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers) Association
Over ten years directing and running the toddler program at a Montessori center in Santa Barbara
Five years independently operating a home-based Montessori program
Years of direct work with families implementing the Montessori approach at home — not just in the classroom
With a gentle approach to the method, we can create a cohesive home tailored to your individual family's needs. I would love to connect with you to start this amazing journey!
What those years taught me wasn't just Montessori theory. It was a deep, practiced awareness of what individual families actually need — the chaos that accumulates, the daily stresses that build up, the specific friction points that make a home feel like it's working against you instead of for you.
It also taught me something that no credential can: how to walk into someone's home — with genuine curiosity, zero judgment, and a gentle approach — and build something that actually fits. Not a magazine-ready space, not a Pinterest project, but a home that works for the specific, real, beautifully imperfect people living in it.
TOPE 805 is for you if…
You don't have enough hours in the day.
1
You're running a full life and your home environment has become the one thing that never quite catches up. You don't need a lecture about systems — you need someone who can walk in, evaluate what's actually happening, and build something that works without you having to maintain it constantly. That's the whole job.
You want your home to support your kids' independence.
2
Montessori-based home organization for families is TOPE 805's deepest specialty. When a child's environment is designed around their development — rather than adult convenience — something remarkable happens. They start doing things themselves. The home gets quieter. You get your sanity back. Jean Marie has been designing these spaces, and coaching families through them, for nearly twenty years.
You're navigating a big life transition.
3
A move, a new baby, anempty nest, a divorce, ablended family, or a parent moving in. Life transitions are the single best time to build an environment that reflects who you actually are right now — and TOPE 805 specializes in getting it right from the very start.
You live in Santa Barbara, Montecito, or anywhere on the Central Coast.
